The Original Lower Moreland High School

Lower Moreland High School was the second major building constructed in the Lower Moreland School District. After Murray Avenue was established as the town’s initial elementary school, the high school was designated as both the middle and high school.

As of 2019, the Lower Moreland High School students have tested almost 20% higher than the state averages in Biology I, Algebra I, and English. Students have also tested above the state averages for most AP courses.

Additionally, the district has enabled solar panels to all three schools by 2012, which was a large milestone for the community. It has supplied the high school with â…“ of its electricity. Installing the panels was a major milestone for the district in becoming more environmentally conscious, and this mindset will continue into the new building.

The Original Lower Moreland High School building, located on Red Lion Road was built in 1967. Mr. Miles is the current principal along with new assistant principals, Ms. Geenens and Mr. Thomas. The Lower Moreland High School is ranked 23rd in Pennsylvania High Schools with a 98% graduation rate. Regarding Keystone Exams, students at Lower Moreland have scored well above the state average in both reading and math. As for the building itself, the high school consists of three main floors and an additional wing in back that was established in 2011. In coordination with the Pine Road and Murray Avenue buildings, the original high school also has solar panels along its roof.
